A Canadian mining executive who was captured in northern Colombia and held by a militant group for seven months has returned home.
Gernot Wober, vice-president of exploration for Toronto-based Braevel Mining Corp., was freed earlier this week after being held by the National Liberation Army, known by its Spanish initials ELN.
His father said he learned that Wober has lost a significant amount of weight, and has sores all over his feet from walking in the South American country's jungles during his captivity.
Wober hasn't spoken to the media since returning to Canada.
