Pilots at Calgary-based airline WestJet have voted in favour of a new four-year contract.
The airline says the deal includes improved pay and scheduling, which places the pilots among the highest paid in Canada's airline industry.
The company and the WestJet Pilots' Association (WJPA) began negotiations in September to replace the previous agreement, which expired in April 2013. They reached a tentative deal with its 1,250 non-unionized pilots last month.
"This agreement represents WestJet's commitment to work directly with the WJPA on behalf of pilots, based on our shared interests and for the good of the airline,." said WestJet president and CEO Gregg Saretsky at the time.
Statements from the airline and the WJPA issued Sunday did not give any specifics on the contract.
"We thank our pilots for their professionalism and the outstanding service they provided our guests every day as we worked toward this new agreement over the past 24 months," said WestJet's executive vice-president of operations Fred Cleveland.
The four-year deal is set to expire on April 30, 2019.
