South Korean President Park Geun-hye arrived on Parliament Hill this morning for a welcoming ceremony and meeting with Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The leaders are expected to talk about trade and will make a joint statement this afternoon following their meeting. CBCNews.ca will carry their press conference live, beginning with a traditional walk in the Hall of Honour at 1:40 p.m. ET.
Park's visit comes on the heels of a major trade deal between Canada and South Korea reached last March. The agreement's text was tabled in the House of Commons in June.
This will be the first state visit to Canada by a president of Korea since 1999, according to the news release from Harper's office.
Harper visited Korea last spring to announce the trade deal.
