Transport Minister Lisa Raitt is making an announcement regarding tanker safety in Saint John today.
Raitt is expected to announce new rules for tankers. She will be joined by New Brunswick Premier David Alward at the event.
CBCNews.ca will carry the press conference live starting at noon ET.
A recent study prepared for the federal government suggested Canadians are increasingly wary of the environmental risks of shipping or exporting oil using any kind of infrastructure — pipelines, tankers or rail.
